Have you ever felt stuck between the life you thought you would live and the one you are currently living?
Maybe you pictured your life with a certain someone by your side forever, but somehow that relationship didn’t last. Or, perhaps you worked hard to build your career, but you got laid off, or you had to quit because you couldn’t take it anymore.
The plan was to be married with 2 kids, a dog, living in a big house with a white picket fence by the time you were 30. You also wanted to start an online business with the profits going to your favourite charity and maybe go back to grad school.
But, well into your thirties (or forties, let’s be honest!), you’re not even sure of what you want anymore. All you know is that you are secretly a little jealous of your super fit younger sister who is happily married with a successful career and a second baby on the way.
While you love your sister dearly and you are happy for her, you can’t help but wonder…
- Why am I always tired?
- Why can’t I find someone?
- Why does life seem to come so easily for her and for not me?
- Why am I so far behind in life?
Believe me, I know the feeling. It can be SOOO frustrating when life does not match your vision board!
I’ll let you in on a little secret that changed everything for me.
“ You are exactly where you are meant to be to go where you want to go next.“
Let that sink in for a moment.
You are not behind in life. You are here because of the choices you made for yourself for better or for worse. You are here because of the things you chose to believe, the places you’ve been, and the people you surrounded yourself with.
If you keep thinking what you have always thought and you keep doing what you have always done, you will only see what you have always seen and end up where you have always been. Your current reality represents the doors you knocked on and walked through.
Yes, some doors have closed. And that’s okay. Just because things haven’t happened for you yet does not mean they never will. If you want to change your life, you have to be willing to open a different door.
It will be worth it. I promise.
